Alexander Dragonetti

former British diplomat, Oxford Modern History graduate, #diptok social media star and 'People’s Champion'

In his first book, Alexander empowers readers to understand there are three options to take in life when faced with conflict or challenge: fight, flight or diplomacy.

Alexander Dragonetti is a former British Diplomat, who rose to prominence as the ‘People’s Champion’ on the 2025 series of The Traitors.

Alexander spent several years as a teacher in a socially disadvantaged and highly challenging London school before joining the Foreign Office. During his time in the FCDO, Alexander was stationed in Africa, Asia, Palestine, and Ireland. He led crisis deployment teams to Nepal after earthquakes, met tribes in Pakistani Hindu Kush, spent time in Gaza to trauma-assess staff, receiving several awards and commendations from the Civil Service.

More recently, Alexander has taken his diplomatic expertise online, creating sharp, engaging and easy-to-digest content that offers insightful analysis of global events on TikTok and Instagram for his 300k+ followers. Alongside this, he is a regular contributor to the iPaper, writing opinion pieces on diplomacy and foreign affairs.

Demystifying modern diplomacy, Alexander’s content includes interviews with senior political figures, including the Prime Minister, offering a first-hand perspective on leadership and international affairs.

Outside of work, Alexander is a dedicated activist for causes surrounding education, disability and health. He is an Ambassador for Mencap, an organisation that supports people with learning disabilities and their families. After speaking about his personal connection to the charity while on The Traitors, he inspired a public response, raising nearly £90,000 in donations.

Keen on adventure, Alexander has visited some unusual places. He has traversed all 15 of London’s disused underground stations, explored the sewers of Bologna and, in 2016, travelled to Murmansk to see a nuclear icebreaker as well as the world’s northernmost McDonald's.

Alexander now lives and works in London. He spends his free time singing in a choir, learning the piano, planning more obscure adventures and writing his first book.
