A passion for history and languages led to Sophie completing an MPhil at the University of Cambridge where she was awarded the Kate Bertram Prize for graduating with Distinction.

While writing her debut novel, Sophie worked as a bookseller at her local independent bookshop until its closure. While working at the shop, she read widely and wildly across YA, Fantasy and Dark Fantasy … and this deep knowledge of each genre is evident in her own writing.

Sophie is currently working on her next novel, and if she’s not writing you can find her reading, dabbling in a new language or on the verge of falling down another rabbit hole of research.
